Tungsten Coated Shells & Mechanised Warfare Armour

Use of the radioactively poisonous artillery shells or whole tungsten volume shells in warfare is indefensible and abhorrent.

There is a fortunate alternative to that status quo. Steel shells, coated in tungsten hide, will perform better that, both directly and economically.

Armour outer plating would be served well by steel coated tungsten with Nular paneling and an final, inner plate layer of steel, sink bolted together. The outer three layers will be all clad to the inner-steel chassis and its exoframe. The exoframe covers the seams of the outer plating and adds structural support.

That configuration allows for kinetic displacement when the vehicle is struck - dispersing the energy, kinetically in all directions and as de-formation in the Nular. The vehicle will have restorative armour plating, akin to the back plating of a crocodilian.
