Pre-Sed™ Password Re-Use Dectector
Updated: Sep 26

The recording and retrieval of customer or partner passwords in IT systems is a legally indefensible position to sustain. It is obvious that passwords are being retained by security web platforms (databases). The leading web software will always inform you that a password has been repeated, when re-used for password resets.
A legal enquiry would almost certainly reveal that the companies, which own or maintain the databases, have potential human access to the passwords which global security depends on. That dependency is in the public or government sector, as well the private or commercial sector. A solution to the quandry is provided.
The databases is only required to record the high precision liklihood that a password has been repeated. The ASCII sum, product and string length of the password is a identifier of its unique when recorded as a coordinate.
Example
1234face is a simple 8 character password. 16 characters is the normal mininum, in IT security management.
In the following example, all number from 0 to 9 are assigned their own value plus one, for a natural value count. The following letter are assigned a natural number count, in ascending order, of 1 plus the preceding numerical value of 10. The final value of z is 10 + 26 or 36.
Character Length = 8
Character Sum = 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 16 + 11 + 13 + 15 , 65
Character Product = 4118400
The password product check is the coordinate = 8 , 65 , 411840
(Comma separation of values is a mathematical product relationship - formerly referred to as dot product.)
With that precision of password, security identification offers is effectively certainty.
The solution will deliver legal and brand defensible risk management profiles to those parties which deploy the database, described. The alternative may lead to ultimate commercial litigation - liquidation and civil litigation, with some propability of criminal litigation.
