Potential difference is the total acceleration which exists between two positions in space. The displacement may be derived from any form of energy. The most well known potential difference is that potential difference of electrical energy known as voltage. Gravity at one height and gravity at another hight represent gravitational potential difference or total gravitaional acceleration. In technology, it is recognised as amplification.
Examples
(1) The electrical potential difference, voltage:
V = W/(Q + q )
(2) The gravitational potential difference:
g = W/m * ( H + v * t ) , where H is a constant (start) height, and v is vertical velocity
= W/m * ( H + h ) , where h is a variable dimension
